London 2012 GamesLondon will host the Olympics for the third time, the first time in 1908 then second time in 1948 and now in 2012. Dates to remember: Opening Ceremony 27th July 2012 Closing Ceremony 12th August 2012 The venue for the games will be in the Olympic Park which is located in east London in Stratford. New venues have been built from a empty plot of land. The location of the village will be easily accesible by public transport, new housing and new restaurants, shops and other buildings will accommodate all the guests, participants and visitors. Majority of the sporting games will take place in the Olympic Village but some of the sports will be played at different location in London. Greenwich Park will be used as well as Wembley Stadium to host games. Both of the venues have excellent transport links to central London. Greenwich Park will host the Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian competitions, plus combined running and shooting events of the Modern Pentathlon. Wembley Park will host football competitions. The stadium is located in north west London and is with easy reach from central London by Jubilee line and buses as well as rail.
